Robert Lane, M.A. Ed.

One Byte at a Time was founded by Robert as a way to share his experience and knowledge of educational technology with students around the area.

In addition to being the Executive Director at One Byte at a Time, Robert is a full time teacher.

This school year, 2020-2021, marks his 25th year of teaching. Robert is excited to get to spend another year at Springfield High School and Junior High as the 7th grade computer technology, 8th – 12th grade robotics, and high school physical computing teacher. Prior to teaching at the junior high and high school level, he taught 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades. Most of these years he had a self-contained classroom where he taught all of the subjects. In the fall of 2008, Robert switched to math only. In 2007-2008, he also spent two semesters teaching technology at the University of Akron. Teaching at so many age ranges allows Robert to appropriately integrate technology at many levels.

Robert received his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Malone College in 1996. A few years later he went on to get a Master of Arts in Education concentrating on instructional technology from the University of Akron graduating in 2002.

He has facilitated and led a computer science camps in Summit, Stark and Portage counties in Northeast Ohio.

Robert also speaks and leads professional development in Springfield Local Schools as well as around Northeast Ohio. He has presented at International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Conference, Ohio Educational Technology Conference (OETC), NEOTech Conference, SPARCC Technology Conference and the APS3T Technology Conference.
