This summer looked much different. Summer camps were cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. We offered an opportunity for a virtual camp for students entering grades 3-8.
This summer’s camp was Learning to Code with Scratch. Scratch is a free online programming language used to teach students to code. Students learned basic computer science principles while creating their own video game in Scratch.
Students joined our instructor each day for an hour of live video. Then the student had some activities to complete before the next day’s video. There were extra resources to help along the way.
Students had a blast and learned to program in Scratch!
“Mom, make it tomorrow at 11 because that is when the next class is. It is the MOST fun!” – Sam, One Byte at a Time Camper
